Nestled in the mountains high above the town of Nerja is the whitewashed village of Frigiliana where every August they hold a celebration in recognition of a time during Moorish rule when Christians, Arabs and Jews all lived together in harmony.

Called the 3 Cultures of Frigiliana the fiesta runs from August 23rd through 26th and transforms Frigiliana into a beehive of activity complete with belly dancers, jugglers and street musicians.

During the celebrations, you will also find a traditional Medieval street market and craft workshops and performers to entertain the children. For the adults, there is a tapas trail where all the bars and restaurants compete against one another to see who wins the award for having the best tapas in the village.

In the evening the town square comes alive to music as local bands and DJ’s perform for the hundreds of visitors culminating in a spectacular fireworks display.

There is plenty of parking available on the edge of town with regular shuttle buses to take you into the village or alternatively, you can take a bus from Nerja. The bus to and from Nerja runs every hour and operates until four in the morning.
